Credit Karma does not charge fees and there is no required minimum balance associated with your Credit Karma Money Spend account. Even if you aren't actively using the account, you may not need to close it, though after two years of inactivity the bank of record may close your account. Once you close your account you will not be able to reopen it.
If you are sure you want to close your Credit Karma Money Spend account, make sure you complete the following so we can fulfill your request as quickly as possible:
- Withdraw all funds from the account
- Stop any scheduled transfers into or out of the account.
- If you are receiving any direct deposits into your Credit Karma Money Spend account, make sure you have updated your direct deposit instructions with your employer or payroll provider. After your account is closed, any direct deposit attempts will fail which may result in delays in accessing your funds.
- Stop any automated payments you may have linked to your Credit Karma Money Spend account
