How do I link my external bank account to my Credit Karma Money Spend and Save accounts?

You’ll need to link your external bank account to start depositing funds into your Credit Karma Money Spend and Save accounts. You will use the same external linked account for both deposits and withdrawals, and you’ll only be able to link one bank account at a time to your Credit Karma Money Spend and Save accounts. You can change your external linked bank account up to 4 times.

To instantly link your external bank account:

1. From your Credit Karma Money Spend or Save home screen, select Make a deposit.
2. Select Continue on the screen that says “Credit Karma uses Plaid to link your bank.”
3. Find your bank by selecting its logo or by using Search.
4. Log in with your online banking username and password.
5. Choose which account you’d like to connect if you have multiple accounts at this institution.

• Once your external account is linked to your Credit Karma Money Spend and Save accounts you can start making deposits.

The name on your external account must match the name on your Credit Karma Money Spend and Save accounts in order to link the accounts. You can link to a joint account as long as your name is one of those listed on the joint account.
 

Which banks can I link to my Credit Karma Money Spend and Save accounts?

We use Plaid to link your external bank account to your Credit Karma Money Spend and Save accounts. Plaid supports thousands of financial institutions including major banks and many local credit unions.

 

I found my bank, but I don’t see the account I want to link.

If you don’t see the account you want to link when you log into your bank through Plaid, you should contact your financial institution to make sure the accounts you expect are accessible with your online banking credentials. 
 

What if I don’t have an online login for my external bank account?

All supported financial institutions offer an online login method for their members. You will need your online banking credentials to link your external account to your Credit Karma Money Spend and Save accounts.

If you do not currently have online access to your external bank account, you can set this up with your financial institution. You should visit their site or contact them directly for more information and assistance.

You can return to your Credit Karma Money Spend and Save accounts to finish linking your external bank account after you have enabled online access with your financial institution.
 

How can I unlink my external bank account from my Credit Karma Money Spend and Save accounts?

You can unlink your external bank account by replacing it with a different one or by closing your Credit Karma Money Spend and Save accounts. 
 

Can I link additional external bank accounts to my Credit Karma Money Spend and Save accounts?

At this time, you can only link one external bank account at a time to your Credit Karma Money Spend and Save accounts. You can change your linked bank account up to 4 times.
 

Can I link a different bank account to my Credit Karma Money Spend and Save accounts?

At this time, you may only have one external account linked to your Credit Karma Savings account.

To  change the external account associated with your Credit Karma Money Spend and Save accounts account:

1. From your home screen, select account settings.
2. Under account settings select Linked bank account.
3. Choose Change linked account below your currently linked bank account.
4. Select Continue on the screen informing you that “this will replace the account linked to your Credit Karma Money Spend and Save accounts with a new external bank account.”
5. Select Continue on the screen that says “Credit Karma uses Plaid to link your bank.” 
6. Find your bank by selecting its logo or by using Search.
7. Log in with your online banking username and password.
8. Choose which account you’d like to link if you have multiple accounts at this institution.
9. If linking was successful you will see “Success! Bank account changed” displaying your new linked account shown. 
10. You can now use your new linked account with your Credit Karma Money Spend and Save accounts.
    • If your previous linked account had an active automated deposit, then you will have the option to authorize automatic deposits with your new linked bank account. If you choose not to authorize automated deposits, you can set them up
      again later.
